– Eph. 4:17-32; 5:1-20
1. On Sunday morning we were challenged to look for those opportunities in our daily life when God calls us to "punch a hole into the darkness". In Ephesians 5: 15-16, Paul also reminds us that we are to "Be very careful, then, how you live – not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity because the days are evil." What does it mean for you to "be careful, then, how you live"? How do you prepare yourself to make the most of every opportunity? How have you "punched holes into darkness" these past two weeks?
2. Take a moment to reflect on the people in your life, past and present, who you would say so definitely and clearly "lived as children of light". What characteristics and qualities did you see in their lives that would warrant that descriptor?
3. As you re-read this portion of scripture Paul shares a host of do's and don'ts. Are there specific areas where God is challenging and stretching you? Are you willing to invite and allow the Holy Spirit to begin a process of renewal and redemption in your heart and life, enabling you to "put on the new self"?
