This Sunday we will not meet for morning worship.  Our hope is that you will take time to pause with God. You could go on a walk and invite God to join you. You could sit quietly and invite God to join you. Go for a run, meet a friend, listen to worship music—the list goes on.  Invite God to join you.

But as for me, it is good to be near God.
    I have made the Sovereign Lord my refuge;
    I will tell of all your deeds.  (Psalm 73:8)

Next Sunday, July 9^th we will begin our Summer in the Psalms series.  We hope you will join us as together we gain wisdom, hope, comfort and direction from the Psalms.

As the school year comes to a close, you are invited to pray for the children, youth and families in the Chandler Mowat community.  The City will be offering programs for the children and youth.  Pray for positive role models and peace-filled interactions.  Pray for families whose homes will be busier.  Pray for the partners who seek to offer resources to the community. 

Over the summer months we enjoy time with the children, youth and parents in the Chandler Mowat community through Popsicles in the Park.  On Tuesday evenings from 6:00 to 7:00, we head to the CMCC playground with popsicles and sidewalk chalk to spend an hour in play and conversation…and a cold treat.  We invite families and individuals to sign up to serve at Popsicles in the Park.  Please let Catherine know (catherine@gatheringchurch.ca)  CLICK HERE if you are able to serve.

August 20^th—Clothing Distribution Sunday

August 25-27^th—Gathering Church Camp at Hidden Acres

We are excited to be holding the Back-to-School clothing event again this year!   Sunday August 20th is our Back-to-School Clothing Distribution Day.  We hope that you will join us as we pack and deliver clothing to the community.

The Youth “Shopping” Day is September 17th.

We are currently collecting clothing and financial donations for The Children’s Clothing project. We anticipate reaching 200-300 students with clothing for the new school year. Please consider how you might help.        

Purchase new items. (Children’s sizes XS-XXL; pants, long-sleeve/short-sleeve shirts, hoodies, NO shorts)     

Finance the purchase of new items. You are welcome to contribute to this project in addition to your regular tithing.       

Invite friends, family, neighbours, colleagues to donate new items or their finances.       

Volunteer at one or both events.         

Pray for this event and the families and students receiving these clothing items.

We are so grateful for our many volunteers that serve on Sunday mornings.  Many hands are needed to create our Sunday morning worship services.  We want to bless our volunteers this summer with some time of rest and refreshment.  With this in mind, the Board has decided that The Gathering will not meet for Sunday worship on long weekends this summer.  This allows for our many volunteers to enjoy the fullness of a long weekend.  We will not be joining for Sunday worship on Sunday July 2^nd or August 6^th.  We will also not meet on our Jubilee Sunday—September 3^rd.

We are currently accepting applications for Cabin Leaders, Lifeguards, Cooks and more. Apply to be part of our enthusiastic team of young people seeking to make an impact this summer!
