Ride for Refuge is taking place on Saturday, October 5th and we need your support!! Reserve this date on your calendar and join others in riding or walking with our team, The McFlyers, captained by Marty Robinson. Our team will once again ride and walk in support of Christian Horizons, an organization that works to provide support to individuals living with disabilities in Ontario, Saskatchewan and around the world. You have the option to ride 10, 25 or 50 km or walk a nice 5 km route. This October, Marcus will be running a marathon in support of “New Life Centre.” New Life Centre Afghanistan is a rehab centre that enables men to become free from a lifestyle of addictions by living alongside them in a long-term working community. Christ in Culture Conference is a conference on understanding, confronting and transforming the culture. It equips believers to think biblically in a secular society. The conference is being held at Grandview Church on Friday, October 18th and Saturday, October 19th. Rev. Dr. Joe Boot will be speaking on Understanding the Culture, Confronting the Culture and Transforming the Culture. Conference workshops will be led by Dr. Michael Thiessen and Katrina Davidson. Do you have old smartphones, tablets, desktops, iMac's, iPod's, or iPad's lying around? You can donate them to support the Community Cupboard (food and clothing bank for those people in Kitchener & area). All the money will go to support the Community Cupboard and each item is worth money, whether it is working or not. (It is helpful to know whether the device works or not, and the cellphone carrier - if applicable.) The money goes to support the 500+ food hampers which are given out each week. This is a year-end fundraiser. Drop your items off at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church (137 Queen Street South, Kitchener) between 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., Monday – Thursday.
