This Week

This Week

This Sunday we begin our new ministry year by extending God’s love and generosity to the children and youth in the Chandler Mowat community.  Please join us at 10:30 at CMCC for our Clothing Distribution Sunday.

Together we will pack the clothing bags and then deliver them with blessings of love and hope to children and youth in the community.

Following the deliveries we will meet for a pizza lunch and conversation.  We have lots to catch up on after the summer season.

To help us plan for the lunch, please let Ruth know if you will be attending  (office@gatheringchurch.ca)

Join us next Sunday as we come together for worship following the summer.  Ellen can’t wait to greet the children for Kids’ Zone.  We’ll join in songs of praise, prayer, reflection and enjoy a time of conversation and snacks at the end of the service.

Snack Attack Begins Again on September 22nd. Popcorn poppers needed!

Snack Attack Begins Again on September 22nd. Popcorn poppers needed!

Snack Attack Begins on September 22 with a POPCORN PARTY

We are looking forward to our weekly engagement with children and youth in the Chandler Mowat community.  Each Tuesday we will prepare 250 snack packs that we’ll hand out to the children and youth on their way home from school.  This is a time of building meaningful relationships, offering encouragement and providing healthy snacks after a long school day.

On September 22nd we will host a POPCORN PARTY in the CMCC parking lot.  We would love those with experience making popcorn in our popcorn popping machine to join us.  Please let Catherine know if you are available any time between 1:30 and 4:15 (catherine@gatheringchurch.ca)

You are welcome to join the Snack Attack team.  We meet on Tuesdays from 1:30 to 4:00.  You are welcome to join for some or all of the time.  Please let Catherine know if you would like to join (catherine@gatheringchurch.ca).

An Invitation to Study the Bible in Community

An Invitation to Study the Bible in Community

In the Spring at MCEC’s AGM, pastors and church leaders were introduced to a new initiative led by Derek Suderman, professor at Conrad Grebel.  Derek is eager for MCEC congregations and congregants to study the Bible together.  Wazir, Rich and Catherine all attended an introductory session to this new Bible study format and know that it will be full of learning and growing in faith and relationships.

This new Bible study initiative is being offered this Fall at Erb Street Mennonite.  Please see information here.  Catching the Spark — Ministry Forum
