Join us this Sunday at CMCC as we conclude our series on Lifegiving Water.  Come and receive God’s overflowing hospitality.

Join us next week at CMCC as we celebrate Thanksgiving Sunday with stories of gratitude and generosity.

Snack Attack is wonderful way for us as a church to spread God’s love and to offer healthy snacks to the children and youth of Chandler Mowat. We gather from 1:30 to 4:00 on Tuesdays for meaningful conversation, encouragement and to spread God’s love and peace. You are always welcome to join the Snack Attack team.

This week we are invited to pray for:

• Youth Group and Kids' Zone

• Snack Attack

• Each other

On Sunday, as we read of God’s presence with us beyond the water’s edge, we received the following blessing written by Jan Richardson.  We are invited to spend time letting this blessing speak to us.

Blessing for the Place Between

When you come
to the place between.

When you have left
what you held
most dear.

When you are traveling
toward the life
you know not.

When you arrive
at the hardest ground.

May it become
for you
a place to rest.

May it become
for you
a place to dream.

May the pain
that has pressed itself
into you
give way
to vision,
to knowing.

May the morning
make of it
an altar,
a path,
a place to begin
again.

We are so grateful for the many ways you give to and serve at The Gathering Church.  God has given each of us gifts and talents to share with the church, allowing the church to live out God’s calling.

The Greeting Team is looking for new people to join.  We know that a warm welcome is an important part of our ministry. If you would like to join this team, please contact Catherine (catherine@gatheringchurch.ca)

In the Spring at MCEC’s AGM, pastors and church leaders were introduced to a new initiative led by Derek Suderman, professor at Conrad Grebel.  Derek is eager for MCEC congregations and congregants to study the Bible together.  Wazir, Rich and Catherine all attended an introductory session to this new Bible study format and know that it will be full of learning and growing in faith and relationships.

This new Bible study initiative is being offered this Fall at Erb Street Mennonite.  Please see information here.  Catching the Spark — Ministry Forum
