Join us this Sunday as we continue our series on The Church: God’s design and purpose of the church and the invitation to us as God’s children to participate in the life of the church through belonging.

We will meet at 10:30 at CMCC. Ellen looks forward to leading the children and Zoiyaah will be in the nursery for some fun engagement.

Next Sunday we’ll meet again for morning worship at CMCC to continue our series on why the church matters.

Snack Attack started on Tuesday. It was a beautiful day and a wonderful beginning to a new season of getting to know the children and youth of the Chandler Mowat community. It was great to hear the warm welcomes, experience the hugs and to hear all about the summer and the beginning of the school year.  We served 240 snack packs! 

Snack Attack continues each Tuesday of the school year.

Thank you to the many who participated in preparing the Back-to-School Clothing bags and delivering them to the families in the community.  It is such a joy to see the children and youth wearing their new clothing. At Snack Attack we heard many kids say, “I really liked my new clothing. Thank you so much” and “Do you like my shirt?  It is from you!” Several moms expressed deep gratitude for the clothing, noting that it made their children happy and offered relief to the cost of returning to school.

One of the hoodies that we packed said, “Dream boldly”. I pray for the child who received this hoodie, that she will know that God loves her and has good plans for her life. It also is a reminder to us as God’s gathered people to dream boldly as God has beautiful plans for The Gathering Church.

Women are invited to attend our Women’s Retreat, September 26th through 28^th.  This is a time of growing in our faith and relationships while enjoying the beauty and rest of Hidden Acres Camp. Please contact Amanda (cnapot@gmail.com) with any questions and for registration details.

On Monday Oct 6th seniors are invited to learn from two organizations deeply involved in supporting asylum seekers and refugees. Experience the difficult decisions refugees make as they flee their homes. Better understand the complex issues of conflict, migration and refugees. Cost is $55 and includes lunch. Our Vision and Care team members serve the church through offering prayer, care and wise leadership around our vision.  The Vision and Care team members are:  Marlene Hoekstra, Frank Hoekstra, Gloria Lebold, Doris Maiolo, and Alisha Nafziger.

The Leadership Board brings prayerful leadership to our faith community, meeting monthly to ensure we fulfill our mission and vision and faithfully oversee the many areas of ministry of The Gathering. The members of the Board are: Wazir Ally,  Craig Nafziger and Chris Pot.
