We have journeyed through Advent together, waiting with expectant hope to celebrate the gift of Emmanuel, God with us. Together we believe the Good News, the great joy and the presence of God in the midst of our hopes and our fears. We hear anew the angels say, “Do not be afraid”. We ponder with awe and welcome this Child, sent by God, to us:

For to us a child is born,
    to us a son is given,
    and the government will be on his shoulders.
And he will be called
    Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
    Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

And so,

Let us proclaim
that we have seen the glory of God
believing that there is a light that shines in the darkness
which the darkness shall not overcome.

Thank you for your prayers, your encouragement, your commitment to God’s invitation for The Gathering and for the many ways you participate so that the Peace of Christ may shine forth.

the joy of the Spirit
