1 Corinthians 12-14; Ephesians 4
Spiritual Gifts

"It’s in Christ that we find out who we are and what we are living for.  Long before we first heard of Christ and got our hopes up, he had his eye on us, had designs on us for glorious living, part of the overall purpose he is working out in everything and everyone." Ephesians 1:11 , MSG.

The beginning of a new year, is a great time to look inward, to take stock of who we are, what our purpose is, and how we are doing living into our purpose.  My hope is that we will grow in our self-awareness, and trust that God's workmanship is all over us because He has shaped us uniquely.

This morning as we launch our SHAPE series we look at the S, spiritual gifts.

Paul says to the church, "Now about the gifts of the Spirit, brothers and sisters, I do not want you to be uninformed," (1 Cor 12:1).

He later in the letter encourages the church with these words… "Now eagerly desire the greater gifts," (1 Cor 12:31).

For Paul, teaching about the gifts was important.  He wanted the church to understand them, to seek them, and to USE them.
